any internship experience helps....i assume the internship is in NYC?
private client is not the greatest but you will get a nice blanket overview of the finance industry. use this opportunity to narrow your interests and go from there.

Those banks have two PCS groups, one that is retail (like SmithBarney offices all over the country) and one that is for super high-net-work people ($20 million plus). If it is the retail branch (the Merrill one sounds like it is) STAY AWAY. If you want to be in finance, anything retail related (it's all sales) will hurt, not help you.
