I want to relocate from LA to either Boston or NY to work in the fund or IM industry. I have seen quite a few jobs posted by GCM, and I wanted to know if they were a reputable firm. Because I am looking at 3 years target for my MBA, I am also looking for a firm on the East Coast with some name recognition.

Greenwich Cap is a very reputable boutique shop which focuses on fixed income investments. They do a lot of MBS and ABS business. They do not do equities at all and I do not believe they have an asset management unit. You should get the names of some of the people there from their Web site and introduce yourself.
