buy the study guides, Schweser is on of the better ones. The books are just too much, the study guides break it down to what you need to know for the tests, The people that I've met that have failed the test are generally the ones that try to read everything. These books are like 100-200 or so, I think, |

Just wanted to weigh in that I found the books useful - I was a liberal arts major in college (read: zero finance background), and the books are more effective at giving you a solid conceptual understanding of the material than just reading the study guides is. I've actually learned a great deal by studying for this test at this point, so I'd say that it's worth taking a look at the books to see if any of them are interesting to you, even though they are around $80 a piece. The study guides are then useful for focusing on retaining the information for the exam.
If you have a heavy-duty finance background, however, it might not be as worthwhile, since a lot of this material is probably review for you.
