I have recently decided to switch from a sales career to the Investment Management field. I am trying to determine the best route to pursue this. Here's my history and my tentative plan.
I have a BS in Business (Marketing) from an average state school. Grades were average also.
Three years sales experience for two non-finance related companies.
I am in the process of moving back to the Chicago area. I plan to take a couple finance courses to brush up before I go to B-school. I am shooting for U of Chicago but may have to settle for Loyola or DePaul.
Does anyone have any suggestions to smooth this transition? What positions should I be looking at while I attend b-school?

Do not settle for Loyola or DePaul. In your position, unless you have good contacts in the IM industry, going to a lesser school would be like shooting yourself in the foot. You might save some money, but, boy, will you regret it later!
