I'm currently wrapping up my first year program at a BB firm in IB. An opportunity arose through a contact's former boss who has started his/her own fund. It's still in its beginning stages with less than $15 million. In other words, risky as hell. I don't see myself doing IB as a career and don't care much for the selling aspect of IB in general and thought IM would be an interesting switch. However, I'm worried I might pigeonhole future career choices by jumping ship too soon. Should I finish my program or take an opportunity in a field that's hard enough to go into?
