Need you guys for advice!
I have an MS in Mech. Engineering and have worked in the IT industry for 4yrs. (A little bit of programming experience. Did mainly managing work.)
But I want to go into the finance industry. Especially Investment management or the like.
Q1; Age problem...
Will it be possible for me to do so, when I'm already 31yrs old!
(Thinking of an MBA or/and CFA.)
Q2; Background problem ..
With no job experience related to IM, and having only trading experience on my own, can I pull it off with just an MBA/CFA?
Q3; I know it's not going to be easy, but do you think it's worth it to make the transition?
(Considering the $$comp / job stability / exit opportunity when old)
Q4; What is the prospect of Quant field in finance?
(since I have an engineering degree, quant is more suitable for me.)
And do you need a Ph.D to last long in the quant side?
Thanks for your time! :)
