Yea, I have some advice. Be realistic!!! It's hard enough to get a job, any job, with a hedge fund. And you're limiting yourself to a small fund focused on small cap? You already have one strike aganst you with the Econ major rather than finance (As an econ major myself I know about this). It's not crap. There's a reason those firms want you to work somewhere else first. Because until you do, you are useless to them. You don't know anything. |

the major is (largely) irrelevant. Having no experience, on the other hand, is very relevant. Hedge funds have plenty of money but no time and small staffs. Therefore, they prefer to pay up for people who already are experienced rather than spend time training you.
