Did I read that you had a mutual fund business plan or were doing this for a class?

Tom,
Yes I did work up a bplan for a hedge fund and the numbers seemed to work. I would have been focusing on reits and special situations because I know that space.
The hedge fund is a nice straight easy to do business but it hinges on your reputation and ability to convince others that you've got what it takes. After you're flying then you need to bring home the bacon for your investors.
After an honest look in the mirror I had to say to myself, I don't YET have the credability yet to convince others to give me their money.
I'm working on getting that "shine" to my name and will come back to the hedge fund plan in a few years when I've got some more things to put on the table. Raising funds from investors isn't that far off from raising venture capital and there management is the most critical point.
