Does anyone know if fund of funds jobs are as good as other I.M. jobs? Is the analysis at all relevant to an active investment process?
Also, is the upside as great in fund of funds as in hedge fund/buy-side?

i think it's a good experience since you get to see all the different styles of money management out there. i'd pick up some books and read. the new investment superstars is a good intro to hedge fund money management's various styles. you don't really pick stocks as you do managers. i personally don't have much faith in fund of funds as i think their fees out weigh any portfolio balancing value they have.
