Effectively, you've already skipped the years of hell and foolishness and gotten to the real job. No pain, all gain.
All banking was going to do was put some experience on your resume, get you some insight into valuation (though not necessarily a huge amount of insight) and generally get you acclimated to the securities business. It's good for some people in that they don't know the business and don't know precisely what they want to do, so they get a few years of window onto it. If you already know who you are and where you want to be, then there's no huge need for it.
