I do not totally agree with "pokerguy". Not for his reasoning and advice so much as other variables that must be taken into account.
For instance, the business is ultimately run by relationships. That is, networking your way into the business can land you an enormous opportunity, even at the ground floor. Don't let your age drown your dreams, keep charging up that hill. If this is what you really wnat to do, then it will be worth all of the hurdles you had to clear to achieve your final objective.
I am in a similar positin with regard to my age and now coming to the realization of what I want to do with my education and professional background. I have asked around and I have yet to hear someone tell me that my age will hinder me in breaking into the business.

Hi David,
Just wondering how long you have been actively looking for an equity research position in San Diego. I too am in SD and will be starting my job search in equity research after taking CFA Level I in June. I would like to stay in SD and am looking for networking opportunities. Any suggestions on where "like minds" gather?
