Right on Alex,
This should be a site for networking, but as a recent undergrad myself, I do find it useful to see the theoretical numbers.
Do you work around NY, I am in Stamford CT right now, work in Banking and am interested in finding a position in equity analysis (quasi entry level of course). Does your firm have any openings, if not do you know of any openings with other firms.
Thanks,

Jon,
About my firm - let's take this offline. I don't know the best way to do that. I suppose I'll need your email?
You know, there seems to be a dearth of positions opening up right at the moment. Post-holiday daze? Undergrad recruiting? Volatile markets? Who knows?
I've found the best way to meet people is to join the local Security Analysts' Society and go to as many events as you can. Volunteer for them if possible. Of course, industry conferences (sponsored by the investment banks) are better IF you're already in the business - but you can't go if you're not a money manager already. The New York Security Analysts' Society is reputed to be the best, but I don't know first hand.
I believe either Stamford or Greenwich has its own Analysts Societies but I'm not sure. Visit the AIMR site.
What do you do at your current firm?
alex
