Hello everybody,
This is my first post and I hope I do not ask redundant question.
I am interested in equity research and have a particular industry in mind. I am not
on "traditional" path (biz school etc) but I am studying for CFA. However, the fact that analyst's role
in I-Banks are open to certain (real or perceived) constraints (from clients, firm etc) I would like
to start in more independent environment.
Can somebody recommend the kind of institution (names would be appreciated) that would be
suitable?

You either want to work for a hedge fund or a place like Wellington Management. Basically, just go to a place with no ibanking.
