In Reply To: I'll be in business school somewhere in September of '02. Of course I'd like to go Ivy, but wouldn't we all. The GMATS will tell the tale. I need your opinion on the following career move: Let's say I wind up at a second-tier business school. Should I not be able to break down the doors at a big-time IM shop, would it be adviseable to begin my career working at a state pension fund? My father serves on the State of CT's TRF board, and has contacts in/at CALPERS, NYS, Texas, Arizona and Massachusetts-so the opportunities would be boundless. Background-4+ years B5 tax, CPA. Thanks, OBO
Message: why not get a job at a pension fund right away? the experience will be a lot more useful than the mba.
