Im a freshmen at a state college in california. I decided that im going to try to transfer into a tier 1 school for 3 reasons. Better specialized education in finance related subjects, it will look a million times better on a resume, and i would really like to get out of CA and over to the east coast. If your really that great of a student...take a look at the ivies ofcourse, but dont forget about some of the other really great tier 1 schools. You can break tier 1 into 3 groups discluding the ivies. #1 You have places like Brown, Duke, Georgetown etc...then #2 you have places like Boston College, NYU, UCLA, UCBerkeley etc and finally #3 schools like UMichigan, U of Virgina, Boston University. I myself am aiming for section #2 and hopefully an east coast school. I hear places like UCLA arent really represented to well on the street. Anyway...sorry for the babbling...just do some research and youll be cool...you sound bright. |

Just go to the best school you get into. If it's an ivy level school, your major does not matter. Otherwise, mojor in finance, economics or accounting. If you go to Harvard, you can major in African studies. At NYU, you better do something business related. However, the most important thing is high grades and good internship experiences. I went to Baruch (CUNY)for undergrad and made it into ML as an analyst with a 3.92 GPA.
