Next year I will be a senior in college and I am wondering what employment I should seek if I eventually want to work for a hedge fund. Is it better to start out in either trading, IM, IB, or is it better to try to work for a hedge fund directly after graduation? I'm an Econ-Math major at a top Ivy school with a 3.3 overall 3.6 in major. |

hedge funds do not hire inexperienced people. if you attempt this route, you'll end up doing nonsense paperwork for a half-assed firm. It will be a waste of your time and your pay will likely be less and you'll learn less on average.
As to what else to do: do whatever you can get a job in. They's won't be dime-a-dozen next year.
