Sorry, your chances, even with a CFA and MBA are extremely slim. Your past work experience will prevent and current market conditions will put a major damper on your getting any position in IM as far as analysis goes. |

Depending on what you mean by 2nd tier, you could probably do it. There are tons of money managers up here in Boston, so your chances go up. You'll probably end up with a less well known firm(i.e. you're most likely not going to walk up and run the Magellan or MFSMIG funds) and you'll have to work your ass off to get in the door, but it can be done. Look for smaller private managers: D.L. Babson, M.A. Weatherbie etc. Best of luck.
