A short article appeared in the WSJ last week about the private banking groups of financial institutions (e.g., Citibank) looking for people with legal and accounting backgrounds. Is private banking the same as PCS, or are they (and how are they) different? Any thoughts on which institutions are the best in Private Banking would be appreciated also. Thanks.

This is only speaking of my experience of seeing what Private Bankers do at my company. It may not be representative of the entire industry, so ask around.
Basically, it's bank accounts for the rich. You do the same stuff that you would at a normal commerical bank, but it's all personalized and involves large sums of money. There are tellers, account managers, loan officers for real estate loans, relationship officers to match sure the client is happy and that it is worth the cost to have the client.
In my opinion, really boring stuff.
