Does anybody here have an idea about exit options from a large fund-of-funds such as Alpinvest? Would it be possible to get into PE after a stint in Alpinvest or is it a one-way street? Also what are comps and hours like? I have an offer to join them; but cannot decide if i should take it up or hold out for real PE opportunity. I see an interesting angle to working at such a firm; you get an insider's perspective on the PE business. (My ultimate goal is to set up my own PE fund focused on growth capital in emerging markets.)
