the more people choose to just go with ETFs, the more profitable active management becomes. Plus, there is a LOT of research that shows active management is quite worthwhile in a number of instances, especially international investing and situations where achieving the market return with less risk is desired. As long as there are financial markets active management will be needed. |

Active management and research plays a role in that it KEEPS alpha in check. Imagine a world without research analysts. And there are a VERY few who manage to generate value...the goal is to be one of them.
