Topic Name: IM roles - CFA?

In Reply To: I have an MBA from a top European B-School (though not terribly well known in the US) and two years experience as a Financial Analyst (Financial Planning and Analysis role) with a global IT firm. I would like to break IM in NYC but am unsure how to do so. Any advice? How much would sitting for the CFA Level 1 help?
Message: Definitely sit for it. In some circles, a CFA is worth more than an MBA. Having both is great to have. CFA worth more in asset management than conventional Investment Banking, but would help in any area. Especially if hiring manager has CFA (CFAs LOVE other CFAs).
