I was wondering, and would love some input on, which asset/fund management firms are well respected (either in terms of employment, or in terms of actual funds and fund managers) which have a presence in the UK, and London specifically.
Mainly I'm thinking equity funds, though would like to hear opinions on fixed income, mixed funds as well as hedge funds.
I know that the asset management arms of the top IBs aren't necessarily the most well respected, nor are necessarily the smaller, newer start-ups.
Anyway, any opinions are welcome.

There are a number of IM in the UK, BGI is very good, one of the largest and highly respected, so are state street, schroders, fidelity, fortis, newton etc.
The most important thing is the firm that will provide the best training and exposure, most of those listed above to, the IB's are very good as well.
