I'm thinking about getting into wealth management/financial planning in the future. Right now I'm working at a Big 4 as a tax associate in the area of personal taxation. I plan to do this for a few years, get my CPA and then work at a financial planning or invesment management firm to get experience before starting my own firm. When working at the financial planning/investment mgmt. firm I plan on getting a CFP or CFA (which would be better or should I get both?) I'm also planning on getting my MBA in between these jobs either part-time or full-time between switching from accounting to finance. Is it wiser to go full-time and look for a job after? Or would it be better to look for a job while working as an accountant and get the MBA part-time? Thanks for any help you can offer!
