to end up trading at a major HF should I take a middle office job at one of the biggest HFs (with some interaction with traders) or go to a large, conservative investment fund and do credit analysis? Pay is considerably better at the IM job, however I'm really looking for future opportunities and I think the skill set is better doing fixed income credit analysis. Obviously the network is better working within a major HF though.
