I'm thinking of taking the CFA in a year or two, and am under the impression that I have to find a sponsor for this. Is this true? Or is it open to anyone who wants to take it? If I need a sponsor, how do I get one? |

You don't need a sponsor to take the tests. The only thing you need a sponsor for is for admittance in to the local society which is a requirement of receiving your charter. There is no point in being admitted before passing level 3 because it is just a waste of money. There is most likely 2 people at your firm that will vouch you (or they know others that will) so I wouldn't be too concerned. In a worst case scenario just try to network with people at a meeting (you can attend without being a member) and ask if they will agree to recommend you.
