If you choose to join a new-long investment firm (ie not a hedge fund/Alt investor) then Cap Group is the premier shop to join no doubt. I spent 5 years at JPM Flemings before jumping ship to another firm, and many Institutional Inv shops copied the Cap Group investing models, methods and process flows whenever possible. Besides, who wouldn't like to pick stocks from 8-5 and then surf and/or pick up hot babes on the Newport Beach, CA afterwards?
