on what you want to trade. They look for different qualities for let's say an equities trader and an exotic options trader. However, character is very important. They look for a stong personality, assertivness, someone that can manage stress and a very good communicator. Quant skills are also welcome of course. |

Qualities for equity traders: Prior truck-driving experience, sports participation, who your father is friends with. Also, did you breeze by with a worthless degree from a top 10 school? Community colleges are OK if your father knows somebody though.
Qualities for exotic options traders: Are you intelligent? Is your degree worth something? Did you take more than one math course in college?
And so on.
