I have the same exact question as bendside - would really like to hear what people think about an opportunity like this vs. FI Trading or Derivatives at a IB.
What happens if things dont go well. What are the potential areas you can grow into -- another fund? |

That's what it's all about. Yes it's riskier to take a job at a HF and possibly earn less upfront in hopes of a nice bonus during an up year. Or would you rather grind it out at a big IB where your efforts may go unnoticed and the bonus pool can get dilluted should the desk have a bad year. If I were you, I'd take the HF job now. No questions asked.
