i understand u wanna experience NY city and at the same time dont want to work for longhours but the truth is IB / IM works involves long hours but it does not mean u dont get time for socializing.So u have to decide your priorities first
is it social life or getting to know the things?tell me which companies u r considering to applying ?as i am also in to applying for IM..lets see whether i kud be of any help |

thanx for the reply. i think the message must have come out wrong, yeah of course theres long hours but i was reading stories of 7 to midnite and weekends and then it kind of loses the point of being there.
as for firms, i have absolutely no idea - i know absolutely nothing about the US firms. best i could do is say i'd prefer to be an analyst at a value house. only know of legg mason and thats in philadelphia so no help
