Can anyone suggest some good reading or link me to some sites that might explain the complex trading strategies used by hedge funds??? |

log into albourne.com go to the library and get the usb research by alex ineichen called "in search of alpha" and its successor called something like "the search continues", also there are a couple of good books on hedge funds, but they are really just an overview on amazon. if you need to know how to value position you need more specific books; AIMA.org has a reading list as well, on their web site.
