Here's a hypothetical scenario. Any of your thoughts/comments would be greatly appreciated. Assume you're a person with no buy-side experience, but several years of financial experience covering a specific industry.
You have two offers at hand:
1) Senior Research Associate, to be groomed into an analyst based industry knowledge: Independent, (relatively unkown) sell-side equity research firm with a leading reputation in its niche industry.
2) Research Associate: 2-year program with Capital Group's fixed income group, with little chance of moving up to an analyst.
What would be in your best long-term interest and why?
