I'm studying for the CFA (level 1) and was looking over the study guide - do i really need to have the books its recommends? I have loads of books from university and suspect they would prove almost sufficient.

To all who have or are taking the CFA Level 1
I am currently looking for good study notes for the Level 1 CFA in June 2004. Which do you guys suggest? Should I buy the recommended books on the AIMR website or just stick with study notes? I hear Schweser is pretty good. How much time did you spend studying per night prior to the exam? Any suggestions/advice would be much appreciated!
