Having a connection changes the picture. If I were you I would lateral in ASAP. WP has a high turnover rate and you never know how long that guy will be there. Maybe he's really high up and its a moot point but I'm assuming he's not. Also WP is a great resume builder and the longer you're there the better. Lateraling in as an analyst may be easier than associate who has pretty much pigeonholed into smaller M&A firms. Good luck. |

I have a connection to the head of recruiting, so I don't she's going anywhere fast..Anyway, I'm starting as an analyst at a small m&a firm because I didn't send in my resume on time for this year's recruiting...I was wondering if I should stay with this firm for 2 yrs., get promoted to assciate and then lateral to WP..Any thoughts??
