In Reply To: What about living close to subway stations? Is it necessary or is the Manhattan bus system efficient enough to get you to the subway station? I will be working at Salomon so I need to get on the red line. Brokers told me that I could get a one bedroom for under $2000, and 2 bedrooms are under $3000. Any truth to this?
Message: http://www.mta.nyc.ny.us/nyct/maps/index.html This site gives you access to the borough bus maps in NYC that delineate where the busses and subways are in the city....breakdown... GS: N/R, 1/9, 4/5, J/M MSDW, DBAB: N/R, 1/9, 2/3, A/C/E lines too I believe JPM: 4/5, 2/3 ML, SSB, LB: Almost all lines at Fulton St. and WTC combined DLJ: 4/5/6, maybe N/R too?? Bear: 4/5/6, maybe N/R too?? Use these lines to determine where you want to live if you dont want to worry about transfers.
