What about living close to subway stations? Is it necessary or is the Manhattan bus system efficient enough to get you to the subway station? I will be working at Salomon so I need to get on the red line.
Brokers told me that I could get a one bedroom for under $2000, and 2 bedrooms are under $3000. Any truth to this? |

If you're living in Manhattan, you're going to be close to a subway stop. New York City's transit system is far and away the best in the United States. There's no such thing as the Red Line, perhaps you're thinking of Chicago. I'm assuming you're thinking of the Broadway 1239 trains. You can get an 1 BR for under $2000, sure, but it won't be that nice.
