In Reply To: I am going to be a senior at the University of Wisconsin - Madison Business School and am interested in a position as an Investment Banking analyst. I know that Wisconsin is not an Ivy but the undergrad business school is consistently ranked in the top ten. Will I have a shot at a job with a top I-Bank?
Message: Anyone can get a job, but it will be harder coming from Wisconsin. I don't know about other firms but ours doesn't recruit at Wisconsin. Still that doesn't mean other banks don't. Recruiting in Midwest, at least from what we do, is focused on only two schools, Northwestern and U of Chicago. Do a lot of banks recruit from Wisconsin? If you have good grades and a good cover letter, pass it along to an UW alum at a bank, and you should be able to get an interview. UW's a great school, good luck!
