All of the postings below have given some really good advice, however, what I wanted to know more about was what exactly are an analysts's responsibilites in the first one or two years at a typical I-bank? What, specifically, do they spend the bulk of their time doing, and how do you present yourself so that an interviewer will see that you are the perfect person to carry out those responsibilities? Thanks!
Message: As an analyst, you are going to spend most of your time modeling and making pitchbooks. The key is to demonstrate that you are responsible and show attention to detail. Also, you work exclusively on teams- rarely will you have solo projects, so demonstrating teamwork skills is important. Show that you are involved with activities outside of school (to show that you can handle a heavy workload with multiple projects at once)- believe me, you will get them. Good Luck
