Easy question
M&A - valuation/strategy/financial analysis
the most highly respected department in IB, makes the most money (usually) and offers the BEST exit opportunities - also the hardest to get into.
Corp Fin - rudimentary financial analysis, cookie cutter products. Still gat paid a lot (probably more per hour than M&A) but your job is also much more dependent on market conditions - i.e. if this market keeps up, numerous tech corp fin bankers will be out of work by Xmas, while the M&A guys are busy selling off VC portfolios.
You figure it out. |
