Poster of the first message. Aren't you lucky that so many mature ibankers (if they're not still in college) are responding to your message?
I'm a male officer in M&A for a BB bank on the West Coast, and while Wall Street has never been the kind of place that comes to mind when thinking of women - see assholes who responded to you here - there are women in ibanking, especially in corporate finance, M&A is still VERY male dominated.
A firm that I would recommend is H&Q (I know I should call a respected competitor Chase H&Q, but you know what I mean). I have many friends who work there, and I have seen many women thrive. Christina Morgan is a top banker there, for example.
