Message: "Typial Day" Arrive at 9:45AM - Check email, vault reports messages, voice mail, etc. 10:00-11:00AM - Finish up/check whatever crap that I could not finish last night. 11:00AM-12:00PM - Get more crap to do from associates. Delegate all work to the word processing center, research, etc. 12:00-12:45PM - Lunch in the cafeteria 1:00PM-4:00PM - Spent most of the time processing unfinished crap from the morning. Perhaps spend like 1-2 hrs surfing the net while working. Maybe another 20 minutes annoying other analysts 4:00-6:00PM - Crunch time. Really get the crap done. VP/MD/etc drops off more crap to do. 6:00-7:00PM - Take first crack at new garbage 7:00-8:00PM - Eat 8:00-11:00PM - If the new crap is not important, then I either delegate or finish up and get out. If its important and has to be done by the AM. then maybe my day extends until midnight/1AM or so. Again, there is no typical day, but as one can see, the AVERAGE day is about 12-14 hours, 4-6 of which nothing gets accomplished. There are days where every second is spend working and days where every second is spend on the phone/net/etc. Face time is a reality. If you leave early, people will talk about you leaving early. All on has in this industry is his/her reputation since everyone does the same dreary dry analysis. Some are quicker and more accurate but at the end of the day, its all the same crap.
