I hate bankers that whine about rankings and prestige. And, no, I am not saying this because I work at JP Morgan. Go to a bank because you like the culture and people. Here's why you might not want to go to some of the big boys:
Goldman: Way too team oriented. Not enough stars. Hard to shine.
Merrill: Way too big. Lots of nepotism. Hard to advance. Easy to get lost.
DLJ: Horrible people, horrible culture.
And the list goes on...
Choose a bank intelligently, not based on stupid things like rankings.
