Sorry, no idea about the merits of the course. Might be worth bearing in mind that if you're looking for a job in London afterwards the place is infested with Oxbridge bigots (like me) who see "Durham" on a piece of paper, but read "Oxbridge reject" instead. Not a criterion for choosing a University, but worth bearing in mind all the same. |

It is not about the quality of your finance course. Its about where firms traditionally hire from. They would prefer a middling history graduate from Oxford or Cambridge to the top finance postgraduate from Durham. You will not have too much of a problem, but you will not be a first choice for the recruiter. So long as you do not mind being surrounding by all of us Oxons and Cambies. Sorry, but that's life and firms hire from their favourite places. This means for Oxbridge graduates (ANY DEGREE AT ALL), just a train's ride to the City. LSE graduates, just a plane's ride to Wall Street.
