these are all IPOs. and while the underwriter is supposed to do due diligence and all that, it's tough to evaluate what sort of market demand there will be for the products and services of net cos. so don't go blaming the banks too much for failing startups. |

Goldman's problems have not just been IPO-related. They are not advising Japan anymore either. And do you remember the transatlantic deal of the year last year? It was supposed to have been Kingfisher/Asda, but Asda was stolen from right under Goldman's nose (they were advising Kingfisher) and was noted as the coup of the year. That was a huge slap in the face for Goldman. Check out
