In Reply To: Holmes - The prior post about sending tulips to another secretary was not written by me (and is also untrue). Perhaps you will notice the different writing style and use of unnecessary vulgarity. In any case, I did go out with Juliet on Saturday, but don't have time to tell about it at the moment - maybe later this evening. FYI - things went well. Not to give you any credit, but since I'm sure others read your post as well, let me address three issues: 1. The reason my "story" went "slow" is because Juliet and I had agreed to see each other over the weekend. And besides, on weekdays I'm here until midnight anyway (that's why we had agreed on the weekend in the first place). 2. The reason I've been asking for advice is because I'm hoping to get good advice that I can actually follow (duh!). 3. Rest assured, this is not a porno site so if Juliet and I ever get to that point, I'll just thank everyone for their help and sign off. And now might be an appropriate time to thank everyone for their help so far, so: Thanks Everyone. Romeo
Message: I did have dinner with Juliet on Saturday. I was a little late (10 minutes) because, as is typical, a worthless piece of analysis HAD to be done (nevermind that it was a Saturday evening and the the Client is on vacation anyway). Being late freaked me out a little bit, because I wanted everything to go smoothly. Juliet was there when I arrived, and greeted me with a great smile. And, surprise surprise, looked great. (One thing that is great about her is that she wears very little makeup). I apologized for being late, and she said it was OK, and like a fool I continued to apologize. She reached out and gently grabbed my arm and said it was OK again, and thankfully that got me to shut up. The conversation at first was about the work week we had justed finished, people in the office, etc. After we ordered we talked more about our backgrounds, family, views on different things in life (like career, etc.). Then the conversation got sort of silly and we laughed a lot. We did order some wine with dinner but didn't go overboard with it. When the waiter came by and asked us if we wanted dessert, I asked Juliet and she just gave me this look, with a little smirk, and nodded her head. I looked at her for what seemed like two minutes (but was probably more like two seconds), wondering/hoping if she was trying to flirt and be suggestive. I can still remember the way the flickering candle splashed the light across her face as she leaned forward a little to nod her head. Anyway, after dessert we talked for awhile more. It's weird how much more complex a person is if you talk to them outside of the office. I was so drawn in to what she was saying - I was learning so much new about her, and I liked what I was hearing.
