Message: Thanks to everyone for their advice thus far. So I did go to the bar with my secretary and her friends Friday night. I didn't invite any of my friends because I didn't want any distractions. She, her friends, and I talked and drank for awhile, but after an hour or two she and I went off to one part of the bar by ourselves to talk. At first we spoke about stupid things from work, but the conversation moved on to her and what her plans for the future are. She said she'll probably look for another job by the end of the summer. I said that's really too bad because I really like her and think she's doing a great job (we had great eye contact when I said I really like her). From that point on, the conversation became more personal, and with us continuing to drink, we were moving closer together. I mentioned that she looked great in her [form-fitting] pants, and she said that she's been running lately. I said that's great and that I run too, but that she didn't really look like she needed to exercise in the first place. She liked the compliment. Her friends left a while later, and asked her if she wanted to go with them to some club, and I felt a little pressured so I asked her if she wanted to say, and after she went over to speak with her friends (I was pretty nervous at that point), she came back and said she'd stay. So we got seats at the corner of the bar and stayed for another hour or two, and had a great time. We continued to talk about each other on a more personal level. There was some nice physical contact (like me brushing her hair out of her eyes), but nothing too intense. When it was getting pretty late she said she should probably be getting home since she had a lot she wanted to do on Saturday. The bar was in the Village, and she lives in Gramercy, and I live on the Upper East Side, so we took the same cab. I asked her what she was doing the next day, and she said she was going up to Central Park to go jogging in the morning. She then invited me to go with her, and of course I accepted. When we got to her place, there was an awkward moment before she went up the stairs, and I wasn't sure what to do except smile at her, and luckily she smiled back and gave me a little kiss. I couldn't wait to see her the next day. On Saturday, we met up pretty early at the Met, and went jogging for about an hour. She was wearing these tight shorts and a sports bra ... I could barely take my eyes off of her (and I think she knew that). After we ran, we walked around the park for awhile, and then around noon she said she'd better be going. I said it was too bad that she had to leave and that we couldn't hang out and have lunch together. And I joked that with all the things she had to do that day, she probably wouldn't even have time for dinner. Then she (pleasantly) surprised me by asking if we could have dinner NEXT week. I'm sure my eyes lit up and I said that'd be great. So we left it that we'd figure out the where/when later this week at work. So, that's where things are as of right now. Of course I'll be seeing her first thing at work tomorrow. It'll be a little weird having her so close around, especially in a work environment, but I'm sure we'll be careful and she sure is worth it.
