Going into Columbia or Univ of Chicago. Will it prepare me for the IB workload and sharpen my analytical skills? No banking expereince but was part of a Management Training Program. Industry totally different animal than GS. Will that put me at a disadvatage with other IB wunderkids coming in..

make sure you get a summer internship in IB. It will not prepare you for the workload, I hear business school is cake compared to law school. It may or may not sharpen your analytical skills.
