as the previous poster said-headhunters only get paid if they place you. they get paid a percentage of your salary. as an experienced person, you will command a relatively low salary where ever you go. ergo, the headhunter would like to spend as little time and effort on your job search as possible and put you out for a job they sure you could get. my advice: you're best off to do the legwork on your own at your level. you should probably focus on smaller shops with less well defined (albeit more sporadic)hiring practices. good luck.
