Thanks for all your help. Your explanation of quant skills doesn't sound much different from rigging the graphics program to display something it doesn't want to display for a certain chart. You can tell by looking at someone's work in the soft copy if they truly know what they are doing or if they have used a sloppy and hard to edit approach to get the result that the banker wants. I have created some simple macros in my own spreadsheets at home, but I readily admit that I don't have the knowledge necessary to rig a financial model. Sounds like I definitely need to get my excel skills up to speed so the transition will go more smoothly and I can hit the ground running with one less thing to worry about.
