Does anyone know if the 400k figure is for incoming associates or for those who are currently employed? |

Does anybody know if the $400-$450K 2-year contract will cover just CorpFin & M&A, or will S&T associates also get similar contracts? How about other offices, especialy LA, but also London, Chicago, Dallas, etc? I'm also very curious as to how this will affect the incoming class of associates (class of 2000), both at DLJ and at other banks. A 2-yr $400K contract would appear to be at least a 30% premium above anything offered elsewhere on the street.
It will be interesting to see how many GS & MSDW associates/VPs jump ship before their bureaucratic firms decide to follow suit. My guess is that DLJ will come out winners in the long run for being smart enough to retain their talent (and attract new talent), whatever the cost.
