From my own experience, going from banking to consulting's much easier than from consulting into banking. But banking means investment banking, not private client services. If you're deciding between pcs and consulting with a top tier firm like mckinsey, bain, or bcg, there's no choice but to go for consulting. Otherwise, it's a tough call. But pcs ain't prestigious unless it's with a bulge bracket firm. |

I am not exactly sure what you mean by "bulge bracket firms". Which banks are considered bulge brackets?
